Kitchen items from The Arcade now available

Thanks to member donations, we've received a number of gacha items from The Arcade's December 2013 and March 2014 rounds.

As you can see, we're currently featuring kitchen items, most priced 25L-50L, and most only 1-2 prime with low LI.

Come see our table at the I Gacha! Resale Park on the Valarian sim. To date we've raise more than 500L from gacha item donations, all proceeds benefitting the VSA's Visitor Information Centre, which will open in Sping 2014.

If you have items you'd like to donate, please contact VSA business manager Victoria Shopkeeper.

Many thanks to all who have donated so far!

Victoria's Antiques now open at Murdann Station

The VSA is pleased to announce Victoria's Antiques is now open at Murdann Station in Caledon Oxbridge Village!

Victoria's is named for Victoria Shopkeeper (VictoriaShopkeeper Resident), the VSA's financial officer, who will now be managing the VSA's budget with regard to rental payments and other business expenditures of the VSA as we move forward in 2014 with the Visitor Centre and other projects.

Victoria's features one-of-a-kind Victorian & historical items, generously donated by merchants and supporters, with all proceeds benefiting the operating costs of the Victorian Shopkeepers Association's Visitor Centre, which will open next door in February 2014.

Thanks to an amazing donation from a group member, Victoria's currently has a huge selection of Arundel Design men's and women's clothing, all priced at 50L, as well as other clothing and furnishings ranging in price from 1L to 50L.

Stock will replenished every Friday, so please do stop by and see what's new. Notices will be posted here and in the VSA update group.

  • The gardened version weighs in at 151 prims and comes in a rezfaux box, with an instructions notecard for your convenience. (dimensions: 38 x 23 m);

VSA seeking bloggers/admins for this site

If you are a lover of Victorian fashion and living in Second Life and have good writing and photography skills, the VSA needs you!

We are seeking one or more bloggers to help our Victorian era merchants promote their Second Life businesses to the greater Victorian community by posting about their new releases, sales, and special events. Experience with Google's Blogger interface is preferred, but not required.

Though our main goal is to highlight our merchant members, the intent of the blog is also to showcase Victorian Life in Second Life with coverage of Victorian themed destinations, events and attractions.

We are a not-for-profit group, so compensation for bloggers at this time would primarily include review merchandise from our merchants... if there is an opportunity for additional compensation, we will pursue it!

To apply, please follow this link, which will take you to a Google Docs application form. We will contact you regarding the status of your application as soon as we can. Thank you!

Welcome to the VSA blog!

The Victorian Shopkeepers Association is an update group in Second Life for both merchants and shoppers with a fondness for all things 19th century Victorian, Steampunk and Gothic.

As a "discerning shopper," members receive notices from a wide variety of merchants specializing in 19th century fashion, furnishings and other items, all in a single group. Shoppers also on occasion receive special gifts from merchant members.

Shopkeepers can reach a targeted audience for their sales and special events. Merchant members don't necessarily have to have a shop on a Victorian sim, nor do you have to have exclusively 19th century Victorian/Steampunk/Gothic products (though they should be a prominent element of your business). For posting privileges, contact Astolat Dufaux in world for a shopkeeper application.

2014 is gearing up to be a big year for the VSA. We are planning a number of new incentives, among them launching this website/blog, a Victorian Visitor Information Centre, and sponsorship of a Victorian hunt. We're also planning to host a merchants meeting on a regular basis to discuss issues of interest to VSA merchants.

To join the VSA, simply open chat history in a Second Life viewer and paste the following link there:
